Getting startedInstallation

Installation

Download Synara for macOS, Windows, or Linux and prepare your machine.

Download the desktop app

Open the Synara download page. It detects your operating system and shows the available installer for macOS, Windows, or Linux.

You can also download a release directly from GitHub Releases.

Before the first launch

Synara uses the agent runtimes installed on your computer. Install and authenticate at least one supported provider before beginning your first task.

For example, Codex sessions require the Codex CLI to be installed, available on your PATH, and signed in. Other providers have equivalent installation or authentication requirements.

Launch Synara

  1. Open the installed desktop application.
  2. Add or select a local project folder.
  3. Open provider settings and check that your preferred provider is available.
  4. Start a task from the project.

Synara normalizes the environment inherited from your login shell so provider CLIs and developer tools can be found even when the desktop app was opened outside a terminal.

Updating

Packaged builds use Synara's desktop updater. Stable releases follow the stable update channel. If an update cannot be applied, download the newest installer from the download page and install it over the existing application.

Your local workspace data is stored separately from the application bundle.

Next step

Connect and verify a provider.
