Synara vs Paradev

Paradev, formerly Superset, is a source-available app for running many coding agents in parallel, each in its own Git worktree, with paid plans for remote access, automations and cloud workspaces. Synara is free and MIT-licensed open source, and runs on Windows as well as macOS and Linux.

Key differences from Paradev

  • License: Synara is open source under the MIT license. Paradev is source-available under the Elastic License 2.0, which its site notes is not OSI-approved open source.
  • Price: Paradev's desktop app is free, while remote access, automations and mobile need Pro and cloud workspaces need Team or higher. Synara's automations, Studio and Hubs are free.
  • Platforms: Paradev targets macOS, with an experimental Linux build and no Windows build yet. Synara ships for macOS, Windows and Linux.
  • Agents: Paradev has more built-in CLI agents, including Gemini CLI, Amp and GitHub Copilot. Synara runs ten runtimes. Both can continue a task in a different agent.
